Anyone else out there with a CR?

Hi John - right next to you in Clinton Twp. We're also out on Lk St Clair.

You know, i wondered the same thing.  I am up in Atlanta, MI, spend most of our time on either Clear Lake here in town or up to the inland waterway on Burt and Mullett lakes...  One of my best buddies bought a crownline too....  there are actually 4 crowns on tiny clear lake, my 202, my buddies 180, and two nineteen footers, 195s?.....

 You sure see alot of boats, but very little activity here from MI.  Come on guys.....  I still think that Burt/Mullett and the inland waterway would be a great place for THE national ralley.....

Todd - we'll be making our 1st visit to that area later this summer (last week in July). We're renting some cottages on Burt Lake with some friends. We spent the last 5 summers at Houghton Lake so I'm really looking forward to this.

Looks like we're in between you guys being in Kawkawlin. Speaking of the "Inn between", we spend several weekends on the inland waterway each summer ourselves. Although this will be the first year with the 270 CR. Most of our boating is on the Saginaw Bay and Houghton Lake.

There's LOTS of Crownlines in Michigan, but not too many post.  Not sure why.  I've been on this forum since 1996, and it's always been that way.  Weird, for sure.  I spend alot of time on Lk St Clair, and travel up north sometimes, too.  With the price of fuel, I'll be spending time closer to home this year (Lk St Clair).


I left Metro Sun morning and drove down to Belle Isle to watch the Red Bull air races.  Awesome show!  While anchored there, I saw at least 6 Crownlines  anchored within 200 yards of me.  Pulling back into Metro, I saw 3 more.

Todd, one problem with the inland waterway is there is not enough hotel/camping to house everyone.  Torch Lake has the same issue.  The other problem is the drive for many/most of the attendees.  The SE Michigan CL dealer is doing a rally in early August on Lake Charlevoix.

I think im the only one from the west side of MI. Lake MI is great but we go up north all the time. we will be in Charlevoix june 21 to the 23 and at the inland waterway july 31 to august 5. We will be up there more than that but those are the dates that we have right now. I know we will be at Torch Lake but dont know the date yet. let me know if anyone will be up there then, would love to meetup with ya!

 We will be camping at Aloha State Park on Mullett Lake from  the 23rd thru the 27th of july.....  will be there with our 202 spinel wine with monster tower and a red and white 180.

There is actually quite a bit of lodging on the Cheboygan end....  there is a big motel on the waterway as well as other motels... and there is waterways campground, pier 33 (i think it has a new name now) marina and party store with rental slips, not to mention the rental homes/cabins on the waterway....  The nice thing is if it was planned for the cheboygan end, then the larger boats could take a trip over to mackinac island and such....   Orion marine used to do a small rally there, we went the last year they had it, it was alot of fun....  just didnt compare to the national we went to last year at Norris....  now that was fun!!!!!

Living in Gaylord, we trailer to Burt/Mullet Lakes, Lake Charlevoix or Torch Lake.  All three of them are about a 45 minute drive from the house to the launch.  We love it in Northern Michigan, even with the short summers.  I agree, that somewhere up north would be a great place the rally.  My wife and I try to make it out at least once a week but that will be changing with our first little one due to arrive around August 9th.

I see more Crownlines than anything else on the way to/from and on Cass Lake in the Detroit suburbs.  There are a lot of brands out there on a busy day.  I can't believe the Fountain that's a regular.

I've run in to several CL owners at our lake and most had never heard of TeamCrownline. You'd think it would be one of the first listings in a search on Yahoo or Google! Guess people may not think to look for a boating forum???

I live in Washington and boat out of Fair Haven

Todd - we'll be up there the same week. I'll keep and eye out for you when we venture over to Mullett. We're at sunset shores resorts on Burt near Topinabee (94 225br with amber -tan - color band).

Fred - I'll bet that was cool (Red Bull). I was considering heading down there but couldn't pull it together. I believe I've seen you post on the Lake St Clair website - I'm a long time lurker there -it's an "entertaining" site.
