I am pullining 252EX with a 2007 F-150 lariet and have some rear end sag. Has anyone ever used the timbren rubber suspension helpers on a vehicle to help correct the sagging? The truck seems to sag around 3 to 4 inches.

Robert I don't know about the timbren rubber suspesion but the the add leaf susenion works great but it will make the truck ride harder when unloaded. I had a dodge that i added a leaf to and pulled a 3400 pound race car plus trailer. I have heard the air bag system works well. Is this one of those systems?

    Robert,

That truck has a great tow rating.  Is the boat sitting on the trailer correctly, meaning is it a bit too far forward and putting more tongue weight on the hitch than necessary?  I would check out the tongue weight at a local scale of have the dealer take a look at the setup.

Are you carrying a lot of equipment or people when towing?

I hope these ideas are helpful!

I need to check the tongue weight to make sure it is correct. I have the boat sitting with transom on the end of the bunk know so I do not want to move the boat back much if any.The truck seems to do a good job over all but just trying to make it a bit better if I can. The trailer is sitting alittle low in the front so I think I need to do something to get it more even. I am close with the whole thing but always trying to great things perfect.

We have a 2008 250CR and we tried towing it with an F-150 and decided to buy a Dodge 2500 Heavy Duty 4 wheel drive. The F-150 was rated for 9,500 5.4L and sure it towed ok on the open road a little slow. The issues were at the ramp it just didn't have the power to pull that boat up the ramp. Our Dodge is rated for 14,000 and does perfect.  My suggestion would be a bigger towing capacity and 4 wheel drive. Enjoy your boat.

    Jerry,

Just my .02 I have a 1995 250cr that I can pull with either a chevy half ton or three quater ton both 4x4. I would not use anything less than three quarter ton, the brake went out on the trailer and was I glad I had the bigger truck. Both trucks are 2000 models with gas motors, like I said just my .02. Good choice on the 2500 deisel.

I know this an older post, but I was reading through it and thought I would chime in on the air bag comments.  I am a big believer in the Air Lift load levelling air bags.  I have had a set on the last three trucks I've owned as well as a few of our company trucks.  The bags make a huge difference when towing, especially when towing heavy or tongue heavy loads.  It's nice being able to level your truck and increase your stopping ability, and  with the in cab controller it makes them totally hassle free to air up or down. Just my 2 cents.

If anyone is interested I'm pretty sure I have an extra set that fits most 1/2 ton trucks except the 04 and up fords.

Jerry. Here is another.02. I have a 1995 250cr. I also have a choice of tow vechiles both 2000 chevys, one 1/2 ton one 3/4 ton, both 4x4 and extended cab. Both do well at pulling and stopping, but when loading tghe 3/4 ton seems to have better "hlding " power when power loading the boat. I always worried about being on one of the sites with pics of my truck under water with my 1/2 ton. Once again my .02 worth.
