Sorry, in a hurry.  I meant to say we went to Stillwater, MN from LaCrosse.  Stillwater is on the St. Croix.  If you ever get a chance go up there.  The water is clear!

    Re: Quad Cities

Hi Brion, hope all is well with you and your family. You will see my spotless boat, spotless as normal. My old bones are aching, but the boat looks beautiful. I am waiting for some things to get completed, so have had time to get the winter yuck gone, but this river and weather are getting to me. Looking so forward to see everyone at Dri-Stack. You better get overthere with your white gloves on!!!!! Take care and see you soon. Best wishes, Kathy

    Hi Marsha,

With the gas prices, I feel our little boat isn't toooo bad on gas and we still plan on many trips up and down the river. If you drive like us, old farts, it can be not too bad. River looks great down here, but the weather is rain, maybe not rain!!! We are out every day the weather is good, so just let us know when you are out. We loved staying at Catfish Charlies and ended up staying there (eating way too much) more days than we expected, it was very nice to stay there over night(s). Would love to go out up in that erea with someone that knows where to go, it does make a difference and a lot more fun. Please call anytime, 309-496-1114. Happy boating and good health!!!!!!!!!!  Kathy Runge (Quad Cities)

    HI Marsha,

I know you said you were coming down around the QC in July, but when? I can hardly believe it IS almost July!!!! Crazy spring-summer, weather and river wise. The river down here is finally down, but the weather is still lousy, but looking better after Friday. Can show you all around down here. Kathy Runge

    Hi Kathy,

Sorry, I haven't checked the website in a few days.  I was going to call you this weekend (Saturday or Sunday) if that's OK?  We were actually holding off our plan to make sure all the flooding was over.  We still can't get on our local river here.  We are planning on being down there the week of July 21st.  Not sure how many days we will be there.  Planning on going to the casinos.  Is there a good time to call you?

    Re: Quad Cities

    Hello Marsha,

You are welcome to call anytime. Got your message after being on the boat for about four days. The river has been very nice down here but with the rain yesterday, a little muddier than normal and up a tiny bit, but our pool stays pretty consistant. It always seems higher south past our lock 15. With the weather I have been doing some serious house work!!! Going over to my boat in a bit to dump out water off of my two covers and hope for no more rain. I will be doing the NO rain dance for your trip week. Do you know about our Christmas in July? It is the weekend of July 26th. It is at our Princeton Beach. It is set up by some really great people and just good fun. There is a write up about it from Brian Moss, he is a sweety. I think it would be a lot of fun for you to meet up with the good people of this pool for that. Don't know how long you were planning on beeing out, because we plan a two day trip and end up gone for nine days, but we are a little weird!!!! Take care and call anytime. See you really soon. Re: Quad Cities

Thanks for the props Cathy. Craig, my brother seems real happy with the jetski. He put led lights on the trailer. They really light up bright at night. Should be out this Sunday. Look for us somewhere, either the canal, or up at the beach.

    Re: Quad Cities

    Kathy,

Your "no rain dance" is not working!!  This has just been a terrible summer for boating.  We have decided to cancel our trip because all that is in the forecast for next week is rain!!  It wasn't an easy decision.  We decided to wait until later in the week, and if it straightens out we may get out for a couple of days but at this time we can't plan anything.  Anyway, I'll let you know if and when we decide to make the trip to the Quad Cities.

    Re: Quad Cities

Marsha, why are you stressing about a little rain. You do have a cuddy, and worse case scenario, you could always tie up at captains quarters and get a room next door at the holiday inn express. We cant wait to see you down river.

Maybe the Runges and the Mosses should come north by you if you know of a good place to stay overnight?

    Re: Quad Cities

That's the last time I'll listen to a weather report.  We cancelled and the weather turned out to be OK.  DARN IT!

We ended up not getting the boat in until Tuesday at Savanna but could only stay out until Friday.  Sorry we missed meeting you this time.  Our next trip is in August and I think we're heading north.

    Re: Quad Cities

    Hi Marsha,

Nothing worse than watching the weather forecasts, only to look outside and see it beautiful!!!! I am one of those that watch it constantly, end up going out on weatherman's good day to turn out the bad day and stay home the good days, frustrating. We stayed out Saturday night with Brian and the gang and it was wonderful. Stayed at the beach Sat. night, Sunday as it was to be heavy and severe storms, not. When we got into DriStack about 8:00 it finally sprinkled as we put the boat up. Missed you last week and don't let that doofus weatherman keep you from coming down here, it's a great spot. I don't usually see much diff in your weather and ours, pretty close. We were all talking about heading to Dubuque, we are always ready to go!!! Let us know when you go north and we could catch up with you from your end, unless it would be during Tug Fest.

You really need, stress need, to be down here for Tug Fest. That is my most favorite thing, it truley is amazing. Friday night, Aug 7th, is the best fire works you will see anywhere. They fire them off a barge in between LeClaire and Port Byron, awsome. Then Saturday, Aug. 8th they shut down the river from 1:00 to 3:00 for the tug across the river. Unbeleivable sight to see this huge rope across the river from town to town and all the boats anchored out just sitting in the channel, watching. Now that's the weekend to come down and really pray for GREAT weather. It's been going on for about 20 or so years now. I think they have a web site for Tug fest.

As I sit here, because of the terrible forcast, I think I will go do yard work and then go over and polish up my boat. My husband says, just look out the window and decide, I am begining to believe that is the solution!!! Off to yard work, instead of boating, yuck, but it is nice out for working in the yard. Give me a call. Take care, Kathy Runge

Hey Bill, where are you????????? We heard you are now slipped up in Clinton Marina? We miss you down here. Let us know where you are and when you are out. We especially like being in the sand pit, nice and clean, could meet you there. We ended up talking to a guy from Clinton with a '08 red 250CR and he said you were up there now. How have you been? We haven't been out that much listening to the weather forecast and end up staying home on all the nice days predicted BAD!!!  Hope to see you soon. Kathy Runge

    Hi Kathy,

Yes I did get a slip in Clinton. I did try to call you about a week ago but I had the wrong number. I found your number in a previous post so now I have it again. I do hit the pits and I would love to tie up with you and Pete. I also would like to talk with you about the tug. I'll give you a call on my next days off.
