    Econolift 6500

Anyone have a 270BR on this lift?  I think Mike O. has a 266 on one if I remember right, but those are 500 lbs lighter according to spec.  The specs say 5500 lbs for the 270BR.  So I'm wondering if the lift can handle that boat with 80 gallons of gas and gear?

I have a 266BR on that same lift. I believe that the next size Econolift jumps to 8,000 or 8500 lbs. Gas weighs 8lbs/gal. A full tank would be 560lbs.

With gear, I'd say you should be right at the limit. I think you will be OK, but you might check with Econolift and see if there are any tolerances built in.

I would think they would tell me it would hold it, but for piece of mind sake's I'd love to hear someone say they've done it.  No worries though right now, I'm still in my 225 for the next 2-3 years.  I just always like to have my next boat picked out years in advance!

We have this lift.  We use it for our 225.  It works very well but when the boat is fully loaded with fuel, coolers, and assorted junk the difference in lifting is visible.  However, it drops a lot faster as well!   For a 270 I would recommend an 8000lb lift just to be safe.
