John Martinez:
I'm getting Two Yutes ready for the Magothy and have a few questions. My rear trailer light is out since it cracked and water got into it and rusted the crap out of it. Question #1 - Can I mix replacement LED brake/tail/turn signal lights when all of the rest of the lights are non-LED? #2 - If I stay with the non-LED, any idea where to pick up a Peterson Mfg 8" x 2-13/16" x 2-13/16" non-LED brake/tail/turn signal to simply replace the original? #3-Suggestions on getting tree sap off of the non-slip deck?
See you all in less than 2 weeks.
I got mine at Eastern. here's the link to the peterson lights.
Eastern
I used Nautical Ease's non skid cleaner and it got the sap off. Marikate nonskid cleaner also does a good job. I think you can get the Marikate stuff at West Marine.
If you can't the deck cleaning stuff in time, try my "cheapskate non skid cleaner": disolve 1/4 cup of baking soda in a quart of water and brush/scrub it on with a medium bristle deck brush. You could also put the baking soda right on the brush and rub it in that way. Then just rinse it off.
And at the risk of getting my chops royally busted, I'll give you one more homemade sap remover, you can actually use mayonaise to remove sap. On the "grit type" non skit it would be tough, but the "diamond" non skit would be easier. Rub/brush it in, let it sit for awhile and rinse it off.
And for the rest of the Chesapeak Bay crew, no wisea$$ remarks about adding bacon, lettuce, tomato, ham, cheese etc.
