    Getting Close

Well we leave in a week from Sunday to make our way.  We can't wait to get there.  I have been so ready for this for so long that it feels like it will never get here.

You will be there before me Kerry. Me and my crew will be getting underway a week from Tuesday and arriving on Wednesday. Have a safe trip and see you soon. You can meet the lady who deserves awards for being married to me for these past 28 1/2 years. I am also bringing my three oldest grandaughters. I just wish the gas would quit going up!Super Angry

    Re: Getting Close

We'll be in Branson about 10:00pm Saturday.  We plan on doing a little Crownline trout fishing on Sunday and Monday before heading over to TL on Tuesday.  (fishing from the CL should be interesting)

A side note on gas prices:

Most of the time it seems like gas is cheaper at the Cuba, Mo. exit off I-44.  The last 3 or 4 times I've been in the area it was quite a bit cheaper there.  Every little bit helps!

    Re: Getting Close

Another cheap place for gas is in Ozark, Mo. It's a suburb of Springfield on Hwy. 65, just to the south. There is a Quiktrip there and a couple of other stations. The Quicktrip is always packed but the other stations usually are matching their price. I always fill up the boat in Ozark and my truck seems to always need gas by then. If you wait until you get to the lake area, it seems like the closer you get to Kimberling City on Hwy 13, the higher it is. Best bet is to fill up in Branson West.

    Re: Getting Close

If you are traveling west on I-44 from St. Louis you might try to hold off to get fuel until you get past Pacific, MO.  There are 4 truck stops at the Highway 100 West/Washington Exit. #251  I live in the area and have found these stations to be consistently 10 cents less than the stations in Pacific and St. Louis.
