Tony,  a lot of my contractors are doing the same thing.  They even put a stipulation in the bids for increases in fuel or cost of production of items that is based upon petroleum such as asphalt.  Contractors can take a beating if they don't protect themselves.

I trailered up to Tomes on Friday for my spring runout.  On the way back I stopped at Costco and had to fill the boat and the truck.  They've now set the pumps to stop at 99.00.  Still had to put the credit card in 3 times.  Boat took 150.00.  People were stopping just to watch.Surprise.  One guy asked me if it was worth it.  Easy answer.  Of course it is.

By the way, Dave at Tomes recommended checking the fuel filter after the first couple of times out to see if there was any water in there.  I picked up a couple of spares, just in case.  Spent today washing, polishing, waxing etc.  So right about now my arms feel like lead weighs.  The things we do for our toys.

    Tony,

Good luck w/ the liquor store/eatery place.  Call me psychic, but if I was to guess a business for you, selling microbrews, etc. would have been on the top of the list!!!

It sounds like something you'll do great at, just don't drink the profits.  DrinksEmbarrassed

Hey thanks Greg it should be fun, it's mainly for Patrice I'm just helping out with the construction like putting a new floor in and setting up the kitchen area which isn't major because there isn't going to be a grill or anything just a small counter top pizza oven and sandwich griller. I'm keeping my day job.Big Smile I'll also help out out night but were only staying open til like 10pm on the weekends we don't want the bar crowd.

If Tony can't beat Greg, and Greg can't beat Two Yutes, then I guess Two Yutes beats both.

Hey Carmine you do have to wonder what the price of gas is going to be this summer but one thing for sure is that gas at Tome's where the rally is being held the gas will only be about maybe 10 to 15 cents above what they buy it for. The price of their gas just barely pays for the dock hands and gas girl. Last year the gas was cheaper there than what I put in my car in the city

Yeah, Tomes was really good about the gas prices last year.  They were about the only ones doing it too.  As I recall, the guy up in Georgetown was over 3.50 at the rally and there were places that went higher than that mid summer.  The marinas around middle bay have been pretty high too.  Guess they figure they have a captive audience.  I just hope it doesn't go to 4 bucks this summer.  I'm going to stick with filling the 5 gal cans and just keeping her topped off each weekend.  It's a pain in a$$ lugging those cans down to the dock, but it beats paying an extra buck and a half a gallon.

The way things are going, they might hit 4 before Memorial Day Super Angry.  I'm just resigning myself to the fact that I have to pay to play.  I've got a 60 gal tank and seldom go below a quarter tank so it's easy enough for me to fill it at the dock from 6 gal cans.  I feel for you guys that are stuck with the marinas.  It really sucks that they know they have a captive audience and seem to figure they can charge whatever the hell they want.
