    Trailer Guide Pads

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of trailer guide pads (48") that are logoed with a Crownline name or logo? I have a Magnum custom trailer that has the PVC covers on the guide poles but I want a fabric cover to put over the poles to minimize the chance of damaging the boat when I put it on the trailer. I have found a source that has plain colors but wanted something more custom looking. I would prefer something in either black (to match the trailer) or burgundy (to match the boat).

    Pat,

I wanted to do the same thing on my Prestige trailer but all the after market setups have U-bolts of some type that attached to the frame.  My trailer (and many of the CL trailers) have an extra wide foot plate at the ends of the trailer that wouldn't allow for that type of installation.  I called the people in Ohio that made my trailer and they said you would have to have them installed when they built the trailer since they have to cut holes in the foot plates and attach the guideons to the frame.  He did send me a picture of at setup that looks pretty good they could make for you (I don't mind emailing it to you) and you install it yourself.  It was nice looking, and matched the trailer, but it costs over $360.  They do look good though and mainly I wanted them to help me see my trailer when your backing down the ramp to load up.

    Marshall,

Thanks for the reply but I think we are not on the same page. I already have the guide poles that are welded onto the trailer itself and extend up about 48". These poles are made of steel and help guide the boat onto the trailer, for which they work great. I just want the pads that cover the poles to be a fabric type. I have PVC covers on them now and they work but if I hit them with the boat as I am loading it onto the trailer they peel and leave a white residue on the boat which I have to take off later. I am looking for something to either go over the PVC or to just take the PVC off all together and just put the pads on over the steel.

    Pat,

Sorry, my mistake for not reading clearly!!  You can get some nice colored ones from "Overton's" but as far as CL lettering goes, I've never seen those anywhere.  Sure would be nice to have though.  I'm a sucker for the little add-ons and doo-dads.
