    Bill,

My understanding is that boat motors are way different that car engines.  There are modifications that can be made but not with a chip.   I have been trying to find better mileage for years, I don't think that is possible.  Boats aren't known for their gas mileage.

bil the only thing i know you can do is change props. go with a higher pitch, you wil loss your hole. that is the only thing that can help on gas mileage. remember not to over prop it can damage your engines.

    Hi Bill,

    Welcome to Team Crownline!

A fuel flow gauge would be a useful tool in determining the optimum fuel efficiency. A couple other factors which will have a big impact fuel efficiency will be trim and the hull condition (is it clean?). As previously mentioned, boats are NOT fuel efficient. I would expect the most efficient RPM would be somewhere in the 2800 to 3200 range.

Forget about fuel mileage.  Get out on the water and have fun with friends and family.  The summer is too short as it is.  The smiles on my kids faces makes me forget about fuel costs and makes me realize how important it is to spend time with them.
