    Oil filter 135 3.0

I want to pick up an oil filter for my boat so I can winterize this weekend Does anyone know what number to get from a parts store rather than a dealer. It does not give me a number in the manual. I would like to use a Fram filter or whatever is available at Auto Zone etc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rich, if you go to a real auto parts store, they'll have a reference manual that has marine engines in it and they should be able to look that up for you.  Years ago, I was shown that Fram filters are pretty weak so unless something has changed, maybe go with a Wix or something higher end.  Cost might be a few bucks more but still cheaper than a Merc filter.  Most Mercs use the same filter.   I use a Wix 51060 which is a taller filter than stock so you may want that same filter but in the shorter version.  I've got the remote oil filter mount which allows me to use a taller filter.  If your filter mounts upside down, make sure it has the anti-drain valve.
