I am looking for information/opions about Richland Chambers and Ray Roberts lakes.  Has anyone spent any time on either?  Are they good rec. lakes, sandy shores, deep enough water, clean and so on.  I spend most all my time on Texoma and am looking for some new places to go, plus we were thinking of buying some property at Richland Chambers.  How do they compare to Cedar Creek lake.  Any help would be great!

Ray Roberts is an awesome lake.  To me it's Texas' best kept secret.  Never been to Cedar Creek so don't have anything to compare.  Haven't had the Crownline out there yet but did take the jetski.

Cedar Creek is a good lake.  It get's kind of rough though - lot's of open water.  It is pretty well developed with private homes and boat docks.  We rented a place at Richland Chambers this weekend and are going down to check it out for the first time before the weather turns.  I have heard good things about it.  It has yet to be developed much so there is lots of land for sale.

Ray Roberts - good to know.  I will have to check it out too.

I live about 14 miles from Ray Roberts ans every morning drive over the North end......always quiet on the north end.

We had a graeat time.  We rented a place on about 10 acres, so plenty of room to roam around for the dog and my son to shoot his BB gun.  The problem was the lake docks on the south side were WAY out of the water - i am assuming that the lake is low but would hate to see it in drout conditions.  We just trailered our boat to keep it from getting beat up on the dock at the house.

 Funny thing, we launched at Midway on the south side.  One problem - no dock!  My wife had to walk down the ramp and "swiim for it" after she parked the truck and trailer.  Kind of funny really. There is a much better launch on the north side with plenty of room and a dock.   The lake is pretty and clear but not much going on.  Personally, I like Cedar Creek a little bit better. 

 I may try to put in at Ray Roberts for the day this weekend - it is close to Plano where I live.

Thanks for the great info, and if you don't mind let me know what you think of Ray Roberts.  Wish things at work would slow down a bit so I could get mine out, but that's not going to happen again this weekend.  I've had the boat 2 months and have put about 3 hr's on it, and now it's getting close to the end of the season, this really stinks.  What side of Plano do you live on?  I grew up on the west side, and graduated high school from Plano Sr. High. (a fewwww years ago, but seems like yesterday)  My wife and I have been looking at houses in north west Plano near the toll road, but haven't found what were looking for yet. Have fun at Ray Roberts this weekend!
