All this rally talk was getting me antsy.  It's 84 degrees on the dock and the water was looking so good that I dropped the inflatable in and went for a short paddle around the dock.  So my boating season has officially started. Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool wooooooooooooooohooooooooooooo

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Bay Rally - need address & emails

If it follows previous years, when it gets closer to rally time, a registration form will be sent to you. You fill it out and return it with the dates you will be attending. When you arrive, slips will already be assigned. Every effort is made to get those that need water and electric in slips which have the required hook ups. The slips/docks have a locked gate for security and the resident owners condo units are nearby. Expect the "evil look" from a condo owner or two if it gets a little too loud or rowdy on the docks for the likings of the resident condo owners.

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Bay Rally - need address & emails

    Hey folks,

I'll be sending the 2nd mailing out sometime over the next 2 weekends, & it will include the registration form.  You can also get one faxed or emailed to you from Deborah Kramer at Tomes Landing Marina at 410 378 3343.  I'll be checking in with her before sending out the next mailing, & if people have already registered I won't spend the money sending them the follow up notices.

Mark Huseman's working on a website with some information on it too, but I haven't spoken with him for a while & am not sure what the status of it is.

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Bay Rally - need address & emails

Greg:  Couple of questions about the rally.  Where are the many days activities centered?

I ask because I have a place to stay around my sister's marina on the Sassafras.

How strange will it be for a dedicated Crownie like myself to attend minus my boat and would I be able to ride with others for a cheap thrill and learning experience....(I realize the boat fare is beer Beer!?

    Thanks!!!!

Hank, all the activities start out at Tomes and there's no shortage of boats.  Kathie and I have room too (ok we're small but there's always room for a boatless Crownie on Liberty Call).

Cappy and Carmine:   I have been swayed.  You two convinced me.  I will sleep on my sister's boat for the nights I stay over.  The only detail left is what brand of suds do I need.

BTW,  Cappy,  I'm a dog lover in case my ride is with your shepard on the tube if you're cramped for room!

    Thanks again for the invitations.

Hey Hank on Thursday we are having a raftup up at Lloyds Creek which is right off the Sassafrass. The poker run Friday will be going up the Frass and the overnight raftup will be on the Frass at the 6mph markers. The Crab feast will be at Tomes but there will be room for you to dock your boat for the crab feast. Hey bring your sisters boat it's welcome

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Bay Rally - need address & emails

Hank, your sister has a house boat right?  Does it get underway?  If it does and you can take it, it'd be cool to have a houseboat at the raft up and it would be a really short trip to Lloyds Creek.    The entrance to the creek is pretty narrow.  What's the size of the boat?  (beam).

Also, Brandy (the shep) will be staying with friends that weekend so you can have the tube all to yourself.Big Smile

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Bay Rally - need address & emails

Hey,  Cappy:   I just emailed Greg telling him that my sister's houseboat which is not brand new has 2 hours of engine usage on it.  But she does have a handy 21'ft center console I might steal from her.  Give her a month's notice and maybe the houseboat will reach it's destination.  I think "hole shot"  and "trimming the tabs " are not in her vocab.Big Smile

If anybody ever spent time at Ordinary point, the beach now has a pile of rocks going the whole way around the point. (All along the beach) That beach used to get pretty full...I'm sure alot of people we be surprised this summer.

    Kinda sucks.....kids liked that place.
