50 cents a gallon almost makes the run to Tomes worth it for gas.

    hey John:

I rememeber gas prices hitting the 4 dollar mark in Georgetown last year.

The way things are going, they might hit 4 before Memorial Day Super Angry.  I'm just resigning myself to the fact that I have to pay to play.  I've got a 60 gal tank and seldom go below a quarter tank so it's easy enough for me to fill it at the dock from 6 gal cans.  I feel for you guys that are stuck with the marinas.  It really sucks that they know they have a captive audience and seem to figure they can charge whatever the hell they want.

John,  I fill my boats 146 gallon tank with cans also.  At 30 to 50 gallons for a normal outing, that's a big savings

Is Tomes taking reservations now for slips for the rally???   should I call them and reserve now or is there going to be a group reservation?

Carmine, I was up there a few weeks ago and they weren't taking them yet.  There's usually a mailing when they're ready to go.  I'm sure Greg or one of the other rally guys will post up here.

I'm not sure, but I put 184 rally packets in the mail today.  It will cover whatever you need to know:  times, places, costs, etc.  I'm curious how many will show up this year.

They will have a flyer advertizing the event, an itinary showing what's tentively planned almost down to the minute, (along with a few editorial comments...), a list of area hotels, & the registration form.

If anyone doesn't get it by mid week, let me know.  If you have any additional questions about it, post here & one of us will answer whatever you need, or feel free to call me.

We got ours today, Greg.  Particularly enjoyed the editorial comments.  Especially A beats B, B beats C therefore A beats C.  Maybe we should have the first annual "who's the fastest".  Prize could be a year of bragging rights.

Greg and Tony - I filled out my registration form and turned it in to Dave when I was up there for settlement Thursday.  I need to clarify something though.  Are "other brand" boats also allowed to attend this year?  Good friends of ours have a 30' inferior brand and would like to come but I wanted to confirm it with you guys before they sent in their registration.  They're in the fire dept. but they're OK anyway and they always have plenty of beer to offer other boaters.

    Hi Bill,

Glad to see you dropped off the registration with Dave.  You were smart & registered early & saved $5.00 per person.

Yes, brand "X" boats will be allowed this year.  As long as a Crownie invites them, & they don't just come on their own was the only stipulation.

We figured it would be a good way to introduce people to Crownline, & would give us a good chance for a large turnout.  Feel free to invite your friends!

Do we need that invitation in writing or can it be a verbal invite? I was waiting for one of those "Your Invited" cards to show up in the mail, maybe Sponge Bob riding a Crownline on the front.Big Smile
