    Jeff,

There are quite a few from that area but I'm not sure if they post in here.  I don't see your name on the list of registrations for this years Crowndezvous at Lake Norris.  It's a great place to meet people and we've got some really fun events planned for this year's event.

We've closed registration because we have already started ordering goodies.  But if you'd like to attend you can still sign up and get in on all the action to include the Poker Run, 2 dinners, live music, etc, etc!!!

    Check out the Crowndezvous Website

    Hi Jeff,

We had a slip there at Euchee Marina, Ten Mile TN, for a year and also one at Lake Douglas for a while.  Euchiee Marina is a great place to stop over.  It is located on the TN River on Watts Bar Lake half way between Knoxville and Chattanooga.  We hope to stop by there on our trip up that way next week.  We will be land bound but they also have a great campground and restaurant.  The photo posted here was taken there.

TN River is a great place to boat.

We are considering a move to the knoxville are for job purposes, is douglas lake a muddy lake?  We will look to move onto some body of water and are not that familiar with the area.  Any advice would be great.

     Carl,

I am not familar with Douglas Lake but I can tell you about Norris Lake. We live in Cincinnati, Oh and spent most of last summer at different locations on Norris.  It is the headwaters of two rivers, the Clinch and Powell.  It has to be one of the cleanest lakes around. There are a lot of nice marinas. Lake front housing is expensive but if you consider looking at something close to but not on the lake you can still find some good deals. IMO.  Good luck with whatever you do.

    Re: EAST TENNESSEE

Carl, We had our pontoon and houseboat on Douglas Lake for over two years and loved it.  No it is not muddy and it is also pulled down in the winter but it is a nice lake. Lots of swimming area and is good fishing.  We kept our boat at Swann's Marina and would love to go down in the evening to Cowboys seafood and then take a long slow cruise back to the marina.  http://www.swannsmarina.com/

Now as Bob said above,  Norris Lake is the cleanest lake around and is far above the rest, but we also enjoyed the Douglas Lake.

I have heard many bad stories about Cherokee Lake in this same area.

     Hope this helps,

    Re: EAST TENNESSEE

well we are headed down to douglas lake for the 4ht of july to check it out.  I am going to try to also spend a day on lake norris.  If everyone thinks that norris is far and away the better of the two lakes and if the drive to work is the same then so be it.  But there are other things to consider and looking through the home listing norris is less expensive.  I guess we will find out.
