Mark H.- I thought I knew where we were meeting until Tony confused me with the observation that we're leaving on a Thursday so there isn't a Middle River no-wake zone.  I thought you meant the line of markers just east of Frog Mortar Creek.  Is that right?  10 a.m. Thursday sounds good to me.

 

Bill you are correct.  The markers about 1/2 mile in from the mouth of the river.

What I meant to say was that the 6mph markers we would be waiting at are not in effect since it is a week day the 6mph at all times is back in the creeks

All right now i've got GPS and a visual, we'll give you all a hail on 68.  How long does it take to get to Lloyds Creek from Tomes?  We might be heading there first for a repair.  Hopefully get to Tomes a little early and follow Liberty Call over to the raft up.

Scott, we'll be at Tomes early and will probably hang around until Captain Raimius and Connie get there, so if you decide to come to Tomes give us a call.

 Tome's called me today and they are unable to take a look at the windlass, understandable with all the crownies descending on the place, so we'll probably head straight for Lloyds and meet up with everyone there.  Think we are pulling outta Bodkin Point around 9am so should see the crowd around 10am coming outta Middle River.

Ed, the pic looks good.  the repair is done and we'll be picking her up tomorrow at Tomes.  I haven't seen any posts from the usual suspects on the Magothy (Rev Ed, Jay, Doug or Frank so not sure who's leaving from the Mag on Thursday.  You might be better off heading north and hooking up with the Middle River crew.  They will be heading right to Lloyds Creek for the Thursday raftup.  We'll be leaving from Tomes and will meet up at Lloyds.

Ed,   We've had a change of plans, we were going straight to Tome's to see about getting a windlass looked at but nixed that.  We'll be pulling out of Pleasure Cove a little after 9am.  I'm expecting to be near "G11" on the Tolchester Channel around 10am if you'd like to meet up around there.  I'm a blue 250CR with full canvas up.  We'll be on channel 68 and also on cell phone 443-889-4976

Henry,

 Mounting it looks pretty straight forward, it's the wiring that I'm confused about.  I do have the two foot switches on the bow, not sure if that's where the other wires go to, but the old windlass had the switches but still only had two wires (that I could find) comin' outta the windlass.  I'm gonna bring the new one along for the journey and will be accepting all advice during the rally   Hopefullyl I get it fugured out BEFORE I start drinking .

It looks like we won't be up to the rally again this year.  We had kept it tentative, but have more plans than we know what to do with this month.  For any stragglers, we do plan to be on the mighty Magothy this weekend.  We'll try harder next summer to get up to the rally!
