We are really bummed because we really wanted to come down for this from Seattle.  Unfortuantly my wife has her state boards for her nursing license on Friday and we have to drive to Yakima (only testing center with an opening);... so it just isn;t going to work out to get down there this weekend.  Hopefully next year.

    Re: Oregon/Washington Rally

    Sorry, Randy

We won't be able to make it. Not that we don't have the time just are lacking the funds for one, to put fuel into the boat and two to get it there (our new Durango there and back costs a pile in fuel in itself). Were still on one income and will be for some years to come with the little ones. It's been my nine year anniversary with my employer and I'm still at the designer II stage  - last 6 years already. That means I got myself registered for the fall to return to university school full time while working same hours to finish my engineering degree. Probably a two year venture? Everything has gone up for us expense wise and not same wage wise - lack of promotion other guys been getting 'Nuff said on that. We have been looking at trasferring to SC if I could convince my firm I'm worthy the relo. You need your degree is the big one. I have an associates in EE just am returning to get my bachelors. The SC move would lower our mortgage by about 150 000 in a comparable home. That's what's makin it difficult is the mortgage costs...boat is long paid for!

We even put tabs on the boat (at tax return time) in prep for this years season! That was a 100 bucks boat & trailer decal we could have put in juniors new college fund!

Seriously, we haven't been able to swing taking it out even once this year.

No freaking way, (I tell my Russian co-worker - "sorry Sergey!..."). "I won't sell you my boat. As he puts it..."I make 'a good deal on when I flip' a your boat ah! ah! ah!!"

"If we don't take it out this year - maybe the next year we will" I reply to him. And that's ok with me, we still own it, and you don't!

I'm hoping some of Y'all southern Carolina boaters will be giving me some locations you boat at (lake Keowee is one I heard from my wife's uncle out there). We 'is thinkin' a parten ways with the Pacific En W.

Joking aside, after the degree is obtained and I upgrade my status from desinger to engineer level we will transfer so truthfully "to you soon to be southern friends of mine out there - keep me posted on the areas you live and boat". My relo will be working in Gaffney SC. That isn't till school's done though but we appreciate you fellow boaters helping with all the boat related info these past 9 years on the forum. I've owned my boat for 9 years but was a guest hidden on the forum for the longest time till I finally signed up.

I've said this before - you guys who know me, our boats been (used to be) a pit you dump money into hence the (comical) name ca$hflow...

    Michael,

I noticed you mentioned extreme fuel costs on your Durango. I recently purchased a 2004 Durango with the big V-8. I get 14.7 mpg without pulling

my boat and 12 mpg when pulling. I love the vehicle but this is terrible. Is this close to your mpg? I had a 1999 Surburban that got 17mpg when

pulling and it was quite a bit bigger than my Durango.

    Re: Oregon/Washington Rally

We get 13 MpG in the city and towing I guess would be lower or average similar based on highway driven.

We figured the cost of this excursion trip to Detroit lake would cost us (gas - Durango there & back, fuel for the boat, food & misc expenses, re-fill Durango for wife to use as grocery getter...I walk to a commuter van)...probably around 350.00 so with tech school starting in September (and expenses related to getting our idle 2nd car insured & road worthy for shool...) it just can't happen.
