My dad was just telling me I might want to consider taking 255 south to the JB bridge and go over that way. With 40/64 being closed, they're restriping I-44 to get an extra lane in. Might make things a little hairy pulling a boat. That's what I plan on doing when we head down in July.

They did restripe I-44 to make another lane and it can be a bit nerve racking as the lanes have narrowed.  It's only about 15 miles and the semis can make it so technically you can make it too.  However, if avoiding moments that cause certain parts of your anatomy to pucker are on your "to do" list then I would suggest taking the I-255 route south around the JB bridge.  Personally I go out of my way to avoid 44 when possible.

It's the Jefferson Barracks Bridge.  I doubt you'll go that way Kerry as you normally head to the north right away I'm guessing but it will allow you to bypass going thru downtown StL on the southern route.

Everyone know about the new highway from Branson West to Kimberling Ciy?  It is one block west of the - what use to be 3 way stoplight in Branson west but is now  a four way stoplight - just one block west and then left to Kimberling City- eliminates alot of that bumper to bumper traffice at Branson West. Really nice road.

Re: Who's attending the 2008 National?

No, didn't know about that.  Do tell more.  The 3 way is the one where you turn east to go to Branson right?  Or straight down is to Kimberling City?  So, there's a bypass to the west now.  That sounds great.

Re: Who's attending the 2008 National?

Hwy 13 near the Sears outlet store is where the newest bypass begins. You continue straight ahead to Kimberling. If you need Walmart you can make a left at the Sears store and be on the old road or you can continue about 1/2 mile south and turn left to get into Branson West. Then left again to Walmart or straight ahead to be on Hwy 76 to Silver Dollar City. The bypass takes you about 2.5 miles south and hooks back into old 13 near the Stoneridge Carpet store. It does cut off the bottle neck in Branson West. Cuts about 10 minutes off our drive to the lake.

Sweet!  It's actually pretty bad getting out of there on Monday mornings.  Bumper to bumper.  This will be nice.

Just realized I hadn't posted on here yet.  We should be arriving super late Wednesday night after a baseball game.  Hopefully a couple of people will still be up to have a beverage with.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!
