    Crowndezvous Suggestions

So, you've been to a National Rally or regional ones.  What ideas did you have about planning or activities that could make the experience better for the masses?  What did you like?  What did you dislike?

We'd love to hear your thoughts so we can try to make this event the best it can be.

If you leave on Sunday you miss a great tie up and a day of boating.  Leave Monday a.m.  Lots of bumpers and rope if you are slipping at Kimberling.

I use to have a 57 Chevy and would attend alot of car shows. The big thing was collecting dash plaques. I know we have been given stickers, but some sort of dash plaque we could put in our boats would be cool. I would also like to see the return of the Rally Coin. Cool

    Re: Crowndezvous Suggestions

I think the kids event last year was a big success and I know there have been kid type events in the past (Ice cream social, etc).  Seeing another kids event would be a good thing.

We tried to do a geocache event last year with the poker run but ran out of time / resources.  Initial response to the idea seemed good.

The best boat drink contest was a huge success last year and I think all that participated had a great time.  It was also nice having it earlier in the week because I think it was the first tie - up event that we had for the "early arrival" crew.

Just a couple options for ya.

This sounds like a good idea, but how about having a plaque that has room for year plates.  So every year you add another plate to your plaque.

I just don't drink for 3 months before and 3 months after the rally.  And remember, I'm still in my 20's!!  Not to get off topic but JoDee turns 30 on Sunday!

I really enjoy cruising lakes at night. The water is so much more peacefull. Maybe yall could come up with some night time events on the lake. Just a thought.

Todd,  I'm with you on this one.  I like to cruise at night also.  Safety concerns would come into play but just something slow simple and easy would still be enjoyable.

    Re: Crowndezvous Suggestions

How about an early run in the morning (lake is nice and calm) with a tie up for breakfast or a run to one of the restaurants for breakfast---I know that you party animals would still be in bed, but there might be enough of us old farts that don't party late anymore to enjoy this.

    Re: Crowndezvous Suggestions

Make the breakfast early enough and some of those party animals might not have even made it to bed yet....LOL.

Most seemed to enjoy the kids events/ day this year. The Texas hold'em game was fun.

I'm one of those old farts who  is an early riser.  I love early morning cruises but don't get to do many cause I can't get the rest of the family out of bed.

    Re: Crowndezvous Suggestions

Night crusing is a favorite for us. We try to get several in every year.  The run from Kimberling City to Mill Creek is a good one and not too far.  For those seeking extra adventure the run up to the "Swing" is a good one.

    Re: Crowndezvous Suggestions

All good schtuff, and If I know Gary and Dave, Mr. Planner, he really has a good grip on agendas and the works.

Here are some thoughts we had for the kids...

Waterballoon Pump-it-up.... see how big you can go, without getting wet.  Simple to do really, giv'em a bucket and a ketchup dispenser and let'em have at it.  but, you only get 2 tries.

Noodle Relay.... get your most technologically advanced noodle and set the CL relay race world record

Have the dinners a little later, 7:30pm, we don't eat lunches usually at the tieups till 2-3pm or better yet, have a dinner wagon/pontoon at the tieup.  The best part of the day, is when the suns going down.  And maybe have nite with dinners out and about... There are some great locations on the lake.  Then cruise home.  Havta mind the consumption for the dock after arrival, but its an idea.

The "Themed Stops" at the Splash, totally rock.  Themed boats, I think is good one-eye-dea'r, arrrh

Have a formal introduction of some of the new models

Rethink the raffles done in the past.  They drag on well after the meal.  Maybe determine from attendance and have numbers on chairs and just distribute stuff from where people sit?  I dunno....

    anywho, my 2kuai

    thanks for asking
