    Columbus, Ohio anyone?

Just wondering if anyone on this forum is from around the Columbus area. I used to be on the river (scioto) a bunch when I had a boat before. (Because we live so close) Now, my family and I do a lot of camping at some of the close lakes/campgrounds and we have gotten back into boating because it looks like a ton of fun to boat during the day and camp at night!

    Adam,

I thought there were a few Crownies on here from that area.  I know that Marc Collins is from the Cinci area in Walton KY.  Maybe someone will chime in soon.  Is that the area that you live in?  I was in Columbus some years ago on business, never got to see much at all.

    Adam -

I live in the Dayton area. Mainly boat at Lake CumBEERland and Norris. For local lakes, it is small Ceaser's Creek. Know there is a few folks from Columbus that boat up there.

I am sure we will have a tie-up at Ceaser's sometime this year. We did it last year and had a good turn out.

We actually line just outside Columbus (NW)  Ceasar's Creek is actually where I sea tested my bout before I bought it...  If you think about it, post it when there will be a tie-up.  My family would love to come.

    Thanks.

    Re: Columbus, Ohio anyone?

We are in the North Dublin area, so you guys are just up the road... Camping at Alum and watching everyone on the lake and renting a boat occasionally on Delaware, is what made us decide to get a boat. We just recently bought the boat and we have not truly had it out yet. (only a sea test before we bought it) - makes for a long winter!! We are looking forward to Spring! - I have heard that Alum gets crowded, but it is still a bunch of fun.

There will defiantly be something posted here about a tie-up at Ceasers. We had a great time last year with about 8-10 boats. My uncle lives in Delaware and has been trying to get me to come up to Alum.

    Re: Columbus, Ohio anyone?

About 20 minutes east of Columbus in Pataskala.  Work in north Columbus.  When I saw your post about your LPX I was very upset that I didn't find that boat first :-)  jk

I'm actually looking for an LPX in great condition around that year.  Buckeye Lake is my hangout...kinda dirty, but it's a fun lake and I grew up in the area, so it's home to me.

    Adam:

I don't know how many Crownline owners monitor the forum on a regular basis, but I can tell you there are a bunch of them that log in off an on. We live in Grove City and have had a Crownline in one form or another for 12 years. Our current boat is a 250CR that we bought last July for an extended Ohio River vacation trip.

We frequent Rocky Fork and Paint Creek down by Hillsbourgh. Both have real nice campgrounds with launch access to the lake. If you see a Crownline on a lake, just pull up to him (or her) and get him to start talking about his boat. I haven't met a gruff or stuffy Crownline owner yet!

If you still boat on Griggs, look for a tall Lake Cop named Mike, he owns an off brand boat (a Baja) but he's a nice guy, as long as you ski in the right direction.

    Happy Holidays!

    Re: Columbus, Ohio anyone?

I almost moved to the Columbus area, ( looked at houses in the Dublin area) but when I looked at a map and didn't see any lakes in the area I decided to stay right where I am now.  "16Min from driveway to launch ramp "  It is perfect for me.  I guess there ARE some lakes in the Columbus area I just didn't know there were any worth putting a Crownline on   HE HE HE  just kiddn ya  I am sure the lakes are very nice there.

any bets on the superbowl this year???

    Re: Columbus, Ohio anyone?

We live in Dublin.  We are 2 min from the launch ramp on the Northern part of the river and about 15 min from Alum and Delaware...

Buckeye lake is a fun place!  We might have to head there a time or two this summer!

we will come down to ceasars for the tie up. sounds like fun! do they have a campground there? the only negative, is that we have to go by the outlet malls on the way there... you can bet she'll want to stop!
