Re: It's time to plan...The SPRING FLING !

Just so everyone knows the reason Knotty Pine asked us to move the Saturday night BBQ was the lack of people staying at the resort. There was only 1 with our group registered at the time they decided this and they felt it would be unfair to others staying there. If we had the normal group staying with them this would not have come up. Seems this year several families have commitments that do not allow them to attend.

With us being the only ones staying at Knotty Pine at the time it was going to be very hard to have all the activities at Skyline and not be staying there. Setting up for Saturday night would have really been tough. We decided if we could move to Skyline we would attend as usual. At the time they had no rooms so we decided to let Joe Elliott take over.

I just wanted everyone to understand what had gone on over the past month.

If you are attending we are still collecting the money and will get with Joe to plan your Spring Fling.

     Thanks Ed Gabel

Thanks for the explanation Ed.  Very understandable on the part of Knotty Pine and definitely changes my opinion going into this.

We just got from Table Rock Lake today. The water is 73 degrees but warming everyday. We had our 192 br out for 5 days and had a great. time. We spent $160.00 on gas which we thought was good. I dropped part of our bimini top in 27 ft. of water so now I am on the search for a new support. The water is high but it is all good.

Re: It's time to plan...The SPRING FLING !

Sorry to hear about that bimini support arm Gary. I guess it could have always been worse. Huh?

I agree with you that TR is beautiful right now. I did not get too far into the water, but 73 is not bad. With 80-90 degree weather coming it should warm fast.

Gary, you need to figure out a way to get to Table Rock June 18 - 22 for the National Crowndezvous. It has been 3 years since it has been at Table Rock. You get to see a lot of nice Crownlines and meet a whole lot of nice Crownies!

John and Brian - if it is only the two of you staying at KP - I am sure that we could get you in at the docks at Skyline. In the past you have had to drive over because they did not have room for 10+ boats but knowing how accommodative they are at Skyline and that it is only two boats - I would boat on over both nights!

Just to back Mike up on this, I just talked to Sheri at Skyline. They said it would be no problem if you guys wanted to boat over. Should give ya'll a bit more water time!!!!!!

Re: It's time to plan...The SPRING FLING !

That's cool.  We'll definitely take advantage of that offer.  I'm assuming that you can't miss the place or is there any specific directions I will need to know in order to get from one resort to other?  (Remember you're dealing with a newbie).

Also, just to clarify on the itenerary, we don't need to bring anything other than beverages for both nights?  We're happy to help out in whatever way we can.

See you all on Friday afternoon!! The plan is to leave St. Charles by noon from my wife's office.

    Later,
    JC

Re: It's time to plan...The SPRING FLING !

You should see several of us out on the lake Friday afternoon who can guide you to Skyline but if you head out from shore from KP to the left (heading to the main lake) you will round the bend to the right and then back to the left then back to the right - Skyline sits in the back of the cove on your left side as the lake makes the last wind to the right (ok I am now confused)!  It is before you get to the bridge so if you get to the bridge you have gone too far Big Smile

We should be down mid day on Friday and hope to get some water time in - see you then!

Thanks Mike.  Clear as mud!!! Stick out tongue  Actually that makes sense.  We should be able to figure it out and we'll have the FRS and VHF as well.  See you this weekend!!

Re: It's time to plan...The SPRING FLING !

John, as you head out of KP, the lake makes a sharp turn to the right. Then it starts a long sweeping turn to the left, almost a 180 degrees. As you come out of that, you will note that you can see the bridge off to your right. This is when you look to the left. There will be two coves. You will want to take the second one to your left. It's about half way back on your left. I hope this helps.

That affirmative John. My accountant, err wife, can do wonders at times, oops, I mean all the time. Anyway, we have done some figuring and will be able to cover both dinners. Friday will be Burgers, dawgs, and chips. Sat is fried chicken, tater salad, corn, baked beans, and rolls. hopefully that sounds allright to everyone. We just figured we'd try to make it as easy on everone as possible, and a little more lake time.Yes

Hope everyone has a great Fling. We had to pull out, too much going on here trying to get everything sorted out after our wedding. We will be at the national to defend our TR Poker Run Championship, so we'll catch up with everyone in a few weeks!
