Hi Marsha,
Nothing worse than watching the weather forecasts, only to look outside and see it beautiful!!!! I am one of those that watch it constantly, end up going out on weatherman's good day to turn out the bad day and stay home the good days, frustrating. We stayed out Saturday night with Brian and the gang and it was wonderful. Stayed at the beach Sat. night, Sunday as it was to be heavy and severe storms, not. When we got into DriStack about 8:00 it finally sprinkled as we put the boat up. Missed you last week and don't let that doofus weatherman keep you from coming down here, it's a great spot. I don't usually see much diff in your weather and ours, pretty close. We were all talking about heading to Dubuque, we are always ready to go!!! Let us know when you go north and we could catch up with you from your end, unless it would be during Tug Fest.
You really need, stress need, to be down here for Tug Fest. That is my most favorite thing, it truley is amazing. Friday night, Aug 7th, is the best fire works you will see anywhere. They fire them off a barge in between LeClaire and Port Byron, awsome. Then Saturday, Aug. 8th they shut down the river from 1:00 to 3:00 for the tug across the river. Unbeleivable sight to see this huge rope across the river from town to town and all the boats anchored out just sitting in the channel, watching. Now that's the weekend to come down and really pray for GREAT weather. It's been going on for about 20 or so years now. I think they have a web site for Tug fest.
As I sit here, because of the terrible forcast, I think I will go do yard work and then go over and polish up my boat. My husband says, just look out the window and decide, I am begining to believe that is the solution!!! Off to yard work, instead of boating, yuck, but it is nice out for working in the yard. Give me a call. Take care, Kathy Runge
