    Re: Detroit Lake

We went to the coast MD weekend, Kape Kiwanda in Pacific City, with 4 other boating families. Saturday was great weather, most got a little sun burn. At this rate, we may not make it to Detroit until the rally the first Saturday in August.  We have reservations at Kanes for that weekend. You gonna be there???

We are headed to Shasta in a week, for two weeks.  Can't wait.  Then we'll be in Atlanta over the 4th to help my BIL break in his new Mastercraft X-45.  It's a very nice boat. Gonna do some wake surfing.

Come on summer, this weather needs to improve ASAP!!!!

    Re: Detroit Lake

We always go to Pacific City when we go to the beach. I will be in Detroit most every weekend until Labor Day. Not sure if I will hang around the rally though. We are usually busy intertaining the kids and their friends. The water is usually warm by then and we try and make the most of it. We might do the poker run this year. My son was asking about that. This weather is depressing. We need the sun to come back. John

This global warming is getting to me. It was 49 degrees today, June6; when I was leaving my home to go to work. I hope Shasta proves to be more summer like than what we are experiencing here. I would expect this in November, not June. John

Fireworks at Detroit Lake July 5, 2008

A fireworks display will be shown over Detroit Lake on July 5 at dusk. Don't miss out on this fun experience of watching fireworks from your boat on the water.

    Re: Detroit Lake

I hope so. My son is in a play all weekend. I am not sure exactly if and when we will make it up there. There is another white Crownline like yours up there and I keep thinking it is you. I don't think they have a swim platform. Are you camping at Kanes? John

    Re: Detroit Lake

Randy, I guess you were correct when you said you are about the only one that looks at this. No one else chimed in all season. We had to bring the boat home from Detroit on Labor Day weekend. Sad that the season goes by so quickly each year. The 8 months between seasons seems like a lifetime and the 4 nice months of the year go by so quickly it is a blur. A lot of changes are coming to Detroit this winter. They are going to construct the ramp editions and widen the Piety Island Channel. Perhaps gas prices will be better next season but I doubt it. I think the oil companies are on to raising the prices during peak demand. Now we just have to hope for a good snow pack again so next season will be as bright as it was this year. Detroit was full until just a few days ago in September when they started the annual let down. Hope all is well. John
