    Re: 2008 Chicago Loop Cruise?

Well Rob I did not get as far as you, but I did pick the boat up this past Saturday from her winter nap. I washed her and I am gonna go wax her now and do the trailer tomorrow. The interior cleaning will have to wait till this weekend or someday next week. I waxed the Grand Cherokee on Saturday after I got home with the boat. Not let's just hope the weather is good for the 19th.Big Smile

    Bill,

I have every confidence that Don picked what will trun out to be a GREAT weekend.  If not, then I will just put the camping cover on and cruise a little slower than planned.  Got to keep the passengers warm.  When we get to the marina stop by for a cold one as I will be setting up the grill and trying not to burn some pork steaks.  Who knows I might even have a couple of extra ones in the cooler.

    Ken,

Sometimes you just have to trun down a good thing in the interest of keeping your job  HE HE HE HE HE  I have always thought that people from ILL are great people and like to share, heck I was born in Joliet.  Then for some reason my pop decided life would be nicer to be on a farm here in Indiana.  Never did figure that one out.  LOL

    Ken,

He had a 160 acre farm and we milked 40head of cattle.  It sure wasn't a lot of fun.  You had to milk twice a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.  We didn't know what a vacation was until my parents sold the farm.  Now all I want to do is be on Vacation.  Too bad this job I have doesn't allow for that HE HE HE HE HE HE HE

    Re: 2008 Chicago Loop Cruise?

Who cares about where you live, the important thing is that in a matter of days we will all be getting "LOOPED". I am looking forward to meeting everyone I can.  This is our 1st year and I don't think we will know anyone.  We will be in on Fri. around mid-afternoon if all goes well. Can't wait!!!!

Temperatures are improving SUBSTANTIALLY in the coming days... now we just need to hope the rain clears out for the weekend forecast.

This is my usual week from he!! so I may not be as responsive as people might like... just try to understand that I have a ton on my plate to pull this thing off by the weekend!!

    GET LOOPED!!!!  Cool

    Re: 2008 Chicago Loop Cruise?

Don as of now, most of the weather reporters are saying that Sunday is the better day with a high of 65 to 70 and no rain! Saturday a high of 65 with the possibillity of scattered showers. Any thought of bumping back to Sunday? Look forward to seeing you again and as usual, you can count me in to help hand out the goodies. Cool

    Re: 2008 Chicago Loop Cruise?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and joined as the Chicago Loop Cruise site suggested even non-crownline owners should come here to discuss the loop cruise.  Yes....I'm a non-Crownline owner....I confess....Smile

I've been wanting to participate in this since a fellow Yamahajetboaters.com board member told us all about it.  I'm excited to meet you all as are the 2 other Yamaha owners participating!  We all have reservations at the hotel for Friday and hope to meet you all.

As Bill points out....Sunday is looking much better right now!  Sat is now at forecasted to be 54 with showers while Sunday is 64 and parly cloudy.  The only problem I see with Sunday is ESE winds.  Sunday also gives us all an extra day to get the boat ready!  I don't know about you guys, but this will be the first day out this year, which means loading all the stuff back into the boat, and completing any projects underway (which I have a number in progress!).

We didn't make Sat night reservations.....hopefully the hotel can accomodate us!

    Re: 2008 Chicago Loop Cruise?

Some of the go-fasts will do it in 4 hours.  Average takes about 6-7 hours.  Then there's the lolly-gaggers at the back of the pack, drinking, rafting up shootin' the $#!?, watchin' JimmieK sing, basically taking their time............like me.  We take about 8-9 hours.
