Attempted 1st Trailering to the Bay but...

had significant trouble with my tow vehicle's top end. I couldn't get much more than 13 mph towing, so I decided to turn the rig around and head back home. By the time I got home, it was getting too late in the day to hook the boat up to my back-up tow viehicle, the F250.

But seriously folks, I'm pert-near ready. I've started her up on muffs, polished it, 303'd it, installed and wired my new GPS (saved the fun part [transducer] till last) and have her pretty much all checked out and loaded with gear. Now if I can find a day/juggle the admiral's sporatic weekend work schedule along with the kids' sports activiities, I can get wet.

Some pictures of this past Saturday's Advil filled polishing fun...

    Greg,

You and Wifey think so, but it's really not that tough to get results like that...I have an Exmark ZTR with a 60" deck which cuts and leaves those happy stripes Yes

Thanks Jay. We're planning on coming down but not sure which day(s)...I took a 4 day weekend that weekend. I'm going to need some local help on the area/navigation since it'll probably be our 1st time by ourselves on the bay/river(s).

The boat looks incredible, but what did you use to get that awesome shine on both the gel coat and chrome? I use Nautical Ease on mine, but doesn't look that good.   Kathy Runge

Looks great!  I spent all week polishing and waxing our 240LS as well.  I love the Crownline lettering you have (I think they call it Crystal caps)... I am going to find a Crownline dealer that will order up the parts for me then i am going to pull off my letter/logo and go with the new ones.

Thanks Kathy...I use Gel-Coat Labs products (properboatcare dot com). I applied the one step Micro-Polish and Sealant with a 6" random orbital machine then buffed it in/off with Dragon Fiber microfiber towels. As far as chrome, stainless, etc., I like Meguiars Marine Metal Polish.

    Greg,

When I ordered the boat (end of summer 2007), Crownline had my logo/lettering style available in gold also...if that interests you.

Greg, Let us know when you'll be around and we'll make sure you get to where you need to be.  Where do you plan to launch?

    Jay,

Do you all stay around the Magothy for the weekend or other places too? I've been following John Martinez's question regarding public ramps (Magothy, Severn, etc.) and it looks like it's slim pickins. I did launch at Sandy Point for my sea trial...nice place with alot of nice ramps...that's why I asked where you all will be primarily.

Since I'm north of Phila, I may just drive down the eastern shore of Maryland and launch from Kent County near Rock Hall.  It's an easier tow and I think it will put me in just across the Bay from the Magothy.

John there is a ramp at Kent Narrows across from Red Eyes but I think it's small. To access it you might have to go west over the narrows and than take the first exit

Definitely overnighting (unless the weather is crappy).  Right now I expect to get there on Saturday and stay at least through Sunday afternoon.  I'll play it ear as to whether to leave on Sunday or Monday.
