    Newbie Question

I have never had a boat with trim tabs before.  When the boat is in the slip, I want the tabs to be all the way up.  To do that, I think I push the rocker switches to the "Bow Down" position.  That is what I did, but I couldn't see them to confirm that they were up.  I figure I have a 50% chance of being correct.

    Re: Newbie Question

    Hi Steve,

The "Bow Down" postition moves the tabs down too. This causes an upward force on the stern, thus pushing the bow down...

But, do you have regular switches or those with the indicator LEDs next to them?
For the normal ones, go for the "Bow Up" position.
For the indicator switch type, you don't have to do anything as the tabs come up all the way as soon as you cut the ignition.

I don't remember any LEDs so I guess I have regulars.  I will go with Bow Up.  Thanks.

    Re: Newbie Question

As Stefan stated your tabs will retract when you shut the motor down. You may want to play with them alittle to get used to them and they are opposites......If you want the the starboard bow down you hit the starboard switch for "bow down" and the tab on the port side will go down into the water forcing the bow on the right side  into the water

Thanks Tony.  My thinking was completely backwards on that.

    Re: Newbie Question

Just to clarify the post about the auto retract.  On the lenco's, the auto retract is only on the one's with the LED indicators.  Those will retract when you turn the power off.  On the manual tabs you have to put them up using the switches.

    Re: Newbie Question

Other brands have the "trimdicators" also, there just extra.  I had them on the Bennets I put on the 215.

Oh and BTW.  Tony please don't splash your red rocket on Memorial Day.  The water is still too cold and it will turn into a red fire cracker.

    Re: Newbie Question

.......or if you have Bennett trim tabs or Insta-Trim/Boat Leveler trim tabs, you can install a Bennett auto trim tab retractor. It's fairly cheap and easy to install.

for some reason I'm getting images of a male dog I used to have laying on his side on the floor on a hot summer day with a bunch of nats flying around a certain area

The last time I checked........ I'm still a boat owner....actually even if I sell my 275 I'm still keeping my dingy with my German engineered rechargeable outboard

Which Mark???? I guess it doesn't matter they both still own boats......Maisano just sold his 225 a few days ago
