We go up to Chattanooga all the time, havent ever put the boat in there.  Anybody got any useful information about where to put in at and areas to see? 

Berry, I don't know much about Chattanooga, however just 40 miles north of there is Euchee Marina in Ten Mile, TN.  This is just north of Highway 68 and the Watts Bar Dam.  It has a nice ramp and the area is beautiful.  You are half way between Knoxville and Chatanooga on the TN River.  This is a very nice boating area.  We use to keep our boat there at Euchee before we moved back to Florida.  If you want to stay for a night they had rooms and a camping area when we were there.

Berry, we just returned from a road trip in TN and stopped by Euchee Marina.  It is still a great place to stop on a boating trip.  They have new management for the marina and restaurant.   They also now have a pump out station.  I wish we still lived in the area but you can have the fun there for us.  The photo here is of our boat when we first launched it there about three years ago.

I am new to this site but live in Chattanooga. If you want to cruise around and have dinner later in the day there are several options. We cruise on our Crownline 210CCR and love it! You can put the boat in the water at Chickamauga boat ramps by Erwin Marina. It is right next to the Chickamauga dam on the south side of the bridge. For dinner and/or drinks, you can dock easily at Lakeshore Marina next to the north side of the dam on the lake side. They have a rooftop tiki bar called Top Of The Dock with god food and drinks. They also have an indoor restaurant/lounge area if you like to stay in the A/C. Also up river about 20 minutes is Island Cove Marina. Try out Fox Cay Restaurant at Island Cove (pronounced "Key") ...Great food and cold bevs. Beer only so if you like liquor they let you "brown Bag" it. A little bit more north of Island Cove is Harbor Lights marina. They have great food and bev at Aries. There is also an Aries at Lakeshore but not accessible by boat. Not too far north of Harbor Lights is Steve's Landing. Some of the best ribs you will get anywhere!! The wait is usually long but nobody seems to mind because of the atmosphere. Steve's Landing is located , I believe , at Pine Harbor Marina. I need to check on that. If you feel the urge to dock and walk around I suggest locking through at Chickamauga and taking the 15-20 minute boat ride down river and docking at Ross' Landing in downtown Chattanooga. They have free docking available in certain areas for 4 hours (if no special events you won't get a ticket for longer docking). You can walk around the newly renovated downtown area and catch many restaurants, bars, pubs, movies, etc....A lot to do and see! Hope this helps out a bit.

Thanks Terry, I will definately have to look in to that.  All the times we have been up there we have always thought it would be a great place to put in, and thats just the downtown area.  Appreciate the information.

 The next time you are planning on a Chattanooga trip shoot me an e mail if you want to lake it. We are on the water all the time in the Summer. I kept my boat in dry storage the last 2 years and decided to trailer it this year as it's only 2 miles to the Chickamauga boat ramp. Plenty wide for 2 boats and good docks to tie your boat up with lots of parking. It's also open 24 hours with Sheriff patrol so security is good...(Just don't let them see you with an open container)........

We are looking to do Chatanooga this year as well. A few friends & I generally trailer our boats up from Atlanta once a year and do a run from Chickamaugua to Knoxville(it's about a 5 hour leisurely run).

You can stay right there on the water at the Marriott.  There are a couple of restaurants on the water right there, and the volunteer marina has a couple of golf carts that they will haul you and your gear to the top of the hill to the Mariott.

It's a short cab ride to downtown Knoxville and a great time to be had there as well. I used to own a Sea-Ray, and the plant is right there on the river up in Knoxville.
