Looking at the 270 BR

    Looking at the 270 BR

We currently own a 2005 Sea Ray 240 SD with a 350 Mag and Bravo III (which I am going to try to sell).  We are looking to move into a bigger boat with a softer ride.  I have looking at the 2008 270 and had a few questions for anyone who has experience with the boat.  I am curious how the hole shot is with the Merc 6.2 and Bravo III.  I like the efficiency of the small blocks, but am not willing to buy an under powered boat.  We do a lot of skiing, tubing and boarding, often with 4 adults and 4 kids in the boat.

What kind of top end can we expect?  While I have only run wide open 3 or 4 times in the last four years, it's nice to know you can out run a storm.  Anyone who boats on Table Rock knows how fast a storm can pop up out of no where.

Generally, what kind of discount should I be looking for from a Crownline dealer?  I am thinking of waiting until late summer when the model years change over to 2009, and buying an 08.  I have found that Sea Ray, Four Winns and Chapparal all have very different pricing models, but I haven't dealt with any Crownline dealers.

Finally, what can I expect from a Crownline in terms of quality and fit and finish.  We have been very happy with our Sea Ray, but it has been babied - we have only put 113 hours on it in 3 1/2 years.

I apprectiate any feedback you all have.  I have been reading your posts, and this seems like a very knowledgeable group!
