Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
My name Is Ryan, I work for Valley Marine which is the Omaha area Crownline dealer, and I am in the process of putting together a few Crownline events in the Omaha/C.B. area this spring and summer! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would appreciate the input!!
I would also like to invite all the area Crownline owners to come see us at the Omaha boat sport and travel show this March.
Thanks, I hope to hear from all of you soon....Think Spring!!!

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Hi, Ryan. My name's Chris Carlson, and I live in Blair, NE. We own a '00 202, and visiting the boat show is a yearly tradition. I'll see you there!
We're regulars on the Missouri, so if you put together any Crownie events that take place on the Mo, there's a good chance we'll be there.

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Hi Ryan,
My name is Dan Sidzyik, just purchase a new 2008 220EX Onyx/Moonstone from your fine establishment Vally Marine (from Robb). I haven't been able to pick up it up yet as I've had Mike working on some additions. My 3-boys and I are really looking forward to taking delivery soon!!
I have a slip at Lake Manawa, IA and usually boat there or Lake Okaboji, IA. We are new to this forum also, so if you are planning any events this spring and summer we will look forward to your post.
We will hope to see you at the Omaha boat sport and travel show in a couple weeks!!
Thinking Spring (just look outside, SNOWING again) @#$# really loud !!!

You should boat the Missouri River. You have no idea what you are missing. Lake Manaswamp is too small, crowded and shallow!

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Cory,
We may give it a try this summer down here. We do boat the Muddy were the river is clean and clear sailing for miles above Ft. Randall on Francis Case. Have you ever been? Talk about you don't know what your missing! Maybe some of the local crownies would like to make it a trip this summer. 31/2 hr tow!
I agree with Lake Manawa, its small and crowded except for our spot across from the C.C. were the water is waste deep and hard sand bottom (Manawa party cove) come over and give it a try sometime.
Hope to see you out on the water.
P.S.
Love your boat

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
The furthest north I've been is about 15 miles up from Gavins Point. I hear that Francis Case is beautiful. I'm a river rat at heart. Grew up around boating on the river since I was a kid. Honestly, I prefer it here in the Omaha area to even Lewis and Clark Lake. We enjoy running up a few miles and drifting back down or hanging out on our sandbar with the group of about 12 boats that frequent "BUBBA"S BAY" across from The Surfside.

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Maybe you can give me some pointers as to running the river around Omaha. I've been to The Surfside (by auto) but not by boat, and haven't navigated in and around the sandbars (which I hear can be tricky).
I've even met some people at Manawa that will hook up and leave for the river, it sounds like a good time and sometime I'll need to give it a try.
Are you planning on attending The Nat. at TR ?

Hey Ryan,
Sounds GREAT, and we're looking forward to the boat show in March. Check with Mike on my 220EX for me. Maybe some of the other Crownies (local) will want to meet at the Boat show in March for a meet and greet???
Keep up the Post, and SUMMER can't get here soon enough
New Crownie in waiting!

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Ryan, thanks for checking in on our new baby, all sounds good !! Tickets would be great, and I was thinking if some of the other Crownies would like to meet at the show or before maybe we could arrange to meet at the new (old Omaha Matteress) warehouse sports bar just west of the Quest center for a little pre-spring get together as a group.
Maybe some others will chim-in

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Dan, We used to boat Branched Oak by Lincoln for years. We were very intimidated by the Muddy Mo but once we tried it we got hooked. We still boat Branched oak because we have small kids and they like to tube. I see people pulling kids on tubes on the river and personally I don't think it is very safe but that's my opinion only. We love the river and go on it frequently. It's not hard navigating on it. I know some people that won't go on it because they hear stories about ruining their lower unit etc. If you don't go WOT and take it easy and watch for debris then you won't have a problem. We have never had anything go wrong (Knock on wood) in the 5 yrs we've been going. A lake around here seems really boring after you've been on the river. I have been checking out possibly doing a run with some friends up to Sioux City and renting a slip and hotel at the Casino. If it turns out good then maybe it could be the start to something of an annual mini rally. Just a thought. We live in Gretna and usually put in at Bellevue and go north. If you see a blk 04 210LX with wakeboard tower named "Suck my Wake" feel free to stop and have a cold one with us.
Love your children, they may be taking care of you someday

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Bryon,
I hear ya, I've got (3) young ones too and that's why we mainly boat at the lake because they like to tube and are starting to wake board and I don't feel comfortable doing so on the river. I've been on the river with others (there boats) and have had a great time. Maybe since I'm a single dad (divorced) and when the boyz aren't with me it would be a good time to give the river a go. I do have other (adult) crew members at times and a trip up river to the casino would be something to try. Some of it has to be that I'm just lazy and a little spoiled with being a golfing member at Council Bluffs C.C. and being able to take a the boat out after (on Lake Manawa ) is great too. You should come over sometime with the kids.
It looks like Ryan ( from Valley Marine ) has some great idea's for this summer planned on the river, and I will look forward to taking the boat out and participating.
Are you guy's planning to attend the boat show in March ? If so maybe we can get a group together and meet. Let me know because I plan on attending and it would be great to get to meet before the Nat. in June. Hopefully others will too.
Other wise I'll look to see you guy's on the water. 2008 220EX (unnamed at this point ) Onyx/Moonstone the Boyz like "Cha $ Ching"

Re: Eastern NE and Western IA Crownline owners
Hey Ryan,
I'm hopeful that more of the local Crownies will repond to your post, you've got some really great idea's. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!! I don't know how any of these Crownies could turn down your offer of a free beer or two . Maybe we should start a seperate post (just a idea) for these events.
Crown gear would be great for your open house and I'll be looking forward seeing you guy's there. Tell Mike to get his rear in gear and hopefully we'll get a great turn out!!
Any other Neb/IA CROWNIES out there???????
