Okay, it's that time again to make plans for the 2nd annual Mini Rally at Clinton Lake in Lawrence, Kansas to be held July 11th, 12th &13th. The rally is a very laid back event and a chance to meet new and old Crownies and just hang out and relax. The evening events at this years rally will take place in campground #1 in the state park. There will be signs posted to direct everyone where to go and an event sheet with directions at the booth to the entrance of the state park.

The rally will kick off Friday evening with a meet and great pizza party starting at 7:00 followed by alot of catching up with each other about our wonderful winter we had. Saturday you are on your own to do whatever on the land or water until 2:00 pm when we will have a tie up and surprises in the cove at the marina. There will be a BBQ dinner with the fixins on Saturday evening at 7:00 followed by more relaxation and a few beverages. Sunday is your day to do as you wish.   

For those needing lodging and slips the marina does have a limited number of them available for rent so you will need to start making your reservations by June 1st and the marina contact info is 785-749-3222. For those that will need logding and are not camping there are two motels within 2 miles of the state park. Best Western at 2309 Iowa (Clinton Parkway & Iowa) 785-843-9100 or Holiday Inn Express at 3411 Iowa (K-10 & Iowa) 785-749-7555 and both have enough parking for those that will not be needing a slip.

For those who will be camping we will have spaces reserved like last year but I will need to know if you will need utilities or not so that I can give the camp host a head count on what we will need. At this time I am still working on solid numbers for the pricing on the evening dinners and will post that information by April 7th. Looking forward to seeing all of you again this year, and looking forward to meeting some new faces as well. Dana and I will be there with Ashley and Chunk. We plan on bringing both boats and we will need a camp site with utilities. On May 3rd, Crestview Marine in Wichita, will have there new models of Crownlines and Cobalts at Cheney Res.west of Wichita. If anyone wants to come, we usually camp for the weekend. This may be the season opener for "CROWN&WATER"

Rick, Joe, I will put you guys on each side of us in the campground so you can keep an eye on me!! Man I'm looking forward to this again because I know we'll be ready to get together after the National. Hey Rick how's the campground there at Cheney and how far west of Wichita is it? If I can talk Julie into it we may just come down there with the camper for the weekend. Joe, you and Terri up for a road trip with us?

 

 

Rick did you get the slip you needed for the National and did you try "Whats up Dock"? Joe and I kept ours there at the Summer Splash. Not a bad place and not too far away.

Looking forward to another Clinton Rally, we had a lot of fun last year.  It's so close to home that we just have to go!  We're also looking forward to the first warm weekend (hopefully sometime in April) to get the boat out on the water. 

We've gone down to Cheney lake the past few times Crestview Marine has had their gathering - I think we're going to go again this year but its not for sure yet.  The first time we went, it was cold (was early April).  Second time we went, it was way too windy (want to say it was mid April), we hardly did any boating b/c the water was so rough.  Atleast now its the first of May, so the weather should be a bit better. 

I wonder how many people from the KC area are going down to the Table Rock rally in June.  We're gonna drive down Monday and will be staying at Cedar Wood resort, which is back in the cove from Kimberling Inn.  We're thinking of driving down Monday, hitting Silver Dollar City on Tuesday, and then boat Wednesday thru Saturday, and drive back Sunday.

Greg, I have had a slip at What's Up Dock for months. I just thought I would try for one at Kinberling Inn, if I could get it. Cheney will have plenty of campsites with utilities available that early in the season. The lake is about 20 miles west of Wichita.

Hey all - haven't been on here alot lately and missed this post - we're planning to make it.  It'll be Renea, me and both the boys.  We'll be tenting it.  Looking forward to it - heard we missed a great time last year.

 Any of you guys still needing a place at KI for Crowndevous?  It looks like we'll be cutting that one short due to my brother-in-law's poor timing on getting married in Vegas.  I tried to explain how weddings can be re-scheduled, but his bride-to-be apparently doesn't appreciate the magnitude of the situation.  Anyway, we'll probably just stay with Steve and Michelle now for the the first part of the week, and pull out Thursday afternoon.  We have a 2 BR condo with slip Wednesday thru Monday - thought I'd check with you guys before I put it out on the Crowndevous page.
