    220 EX - Engine size

Intererested in a new 220EX 2007 leftover.  Think I am getting a great deal  - $39k including sports package, graphics, botom paint, walk through door, upgraded stereo, Racing wheel, dual battery switch.  Only concern is the engine - has the 5.0 260hp with the Bravo 3.  Intended use is cruising but my 10 year old loves to waterski and want a boat for water sports.  Boat to be used in saltwater - bayarea only.  Hoping to get some feedback on the deal as well as the engine size.

Len, welcome to the forum.  I can't comment on the deal because I'm not sure how much they go new but it sounds like a pretty decent price.  I'm assuming you're going to keep it in the water considering the "bottom paint"?

The 5.0 should do fine on that boat.  You'll be able to wakeboard, ski and tube with no problems.  It won't be the fastest thing out of the water but it will do the job.

I've got a 236LS with the 5.7 and it's a great setup.  Your 220EX should be a tad lighter so I think you'll be happy with it.

Appreciate the response and the warm welcome.  Don't need to be the fastest out there - just want to make sure the kids have a great day on the water - everyday!

     Thanks

The Bravo III will be the key to the watersports offering great planing and the ability to maintain plane at a lower speed.
