I'm looking to add some rear speakers in our boat.  It's a 1996 182 BR.  It does have the holes as I felt thru the carpet on the bottom front side of the rear bench seat.  Does anyone know what size they are?  Also I've heard about some pre-wired?  If that's true how might I find it?

Those holes should be setup for 6 1/2 round speakers.  Best bet is to look on the other side and see or cut the carpet and measure.  As far as pre-wired, if it is, there should be some wiring up in the gunwhale on the starboard side of the boat.  Other option would be to pull the radio and see how many wires are hanging off the plug.  Should have a 12 volt constant, 12 volt switched, and ground.  Then seperate from that there will be speaker wires.  Most likely grey and white in color.

Got the 6.5's installed tonight.  Man what a world of difference.  Now hopefully I'll be able to hear it a bit while cruising!!

Glad you got them installed.  What did you end up putting in there?

If you want a little more sound you can always add an amplifier.  I've got a 4 channel Infinity Reference amp in my boat and it's unbelievable how clear the radio is under way.  Even with the exhaust open you can hear the tunes.

Congrats, Michael. Maybe we'll see (and hear) you out on the river this summer, if it ever warms up. BTW, Ryan's right about an amp. Makes a world of difference on a boat when you're running an amp. Cuts through all the wind / engine / passenger noise. If you like Pyle, you can pick up a Pyle marine amp on eBay pretty cheap.
