Bruce Fales:
Hope you had a great time on the lake. We will be towing our boat to Norris for the first time on July 10th, and will launch from Deerfield Marina. We are staying at a house out at the point.
What were the conditions on the lake? We were there once last year (our first time ever), and fell in love with the lake.
What is it like towing a boat into the area? I know it is quite hilly and we will be maxing out our Chrysler Aspen by towing our 260 LS.
If you have any favorite places on the lake let us know. We stayed at the Willows last year and will be doing so again in August. We love that place!!!
We had an awesome time on the lake. Definately one of our favorite destinations with the boat.
The lake was nice but it looked like it was down a little bit. Not sure what the level is now. I believe the water was around 80 degrees but still a bit cool for us Florida folks.
Towing to Deerfield is definately an experience. That's my second time doing it and it wasn't too bad but I've got a big ole F-250 that does the job nicely. Not sure how fun it will be towing the bigger boat.
We took a run out to 33 bridge but it wasn't that impressive. I really didn't like that part of the lake. Also went the other way to the damn. I'd say the best part of the lake for us was heading left out of Deerfield. Lots of nice little coves out there.
Stay away from Seqoyah Marina. They have the absolutely worst food on the lake.
The food and service at Stardust was excellent.
Sugar Hollow has a good selection of T-shirts.
The food at Flat Hollow was pretty good but the service wasn't that great.
And Shanghai is probably the best. Nice sized store and the ribs are excellent.
