    2007 220EX

Bit the bullet and purchased a new 2007 220EX (5.0 MPI 260hp Bravo III).  So far have 8 hours on it and am happy with the way she performs.  Already have some lasting memories.  A few break-in question.  Recommendation is for the first ten hours not to exceed 3/4 throttle and for the next ten you can exceed 3/4 and open her up from time to time, never maintining same speed for extended periods of time.  Anyone think anything different?  And I am assuming 3,700 rpms would be 3/4 throttle - specs say max rpm is 4600 to 5600.

Len, some say "drive it like you stole it".  I dunno.  I imagine the manufacturers want the products to last and to have minimal warranty claims so I tend to follow their recommendations and go easy until everything has had a chance to seat in.

I agree with mike.  We followed the mfg recommendation for break in on ours (new in 2004) and we've had no problems since.  Gotta figure they put the break in stuff in there for a reason.

Ditto on what Mike and John have stated.  I have always stuck to Mercruiser's recommendations and have been trouble free.   Congrats on the new boat!Yes
