    Bone Head Move

Well the weather finally cooperated and we were able to put our boat in the water on Monday night.  After the inaugral cruise I put it on the lift and started the motor (my awesome wife got it for me last year) and all of a sudden the motor pops off of the wheel.  I am like what the?!!!!!!!!  So I reassemble it and start over.  Again!!!!!! what the?!!!!!!!  I did this a few times and it was getting dark.  We tied the boat to the pier and went home.

On the way home I thought to myself....  NO WAY?!!!!!!!  Yup, I figured it out.  I was turning the key to lower the boat, hence bringing it up the opposite way.  This caused the threads on the spacers to undo and pop the motor off.  LOL!!!! now I can laugh, we went out last night after work and fixed it again and brought it up the correct way.  I am happy to say we are back in business.

I am telling you all, it is always something.  I just thought I would share my experience with you.

Oddly enough Rick, the shake down cruise only had a couple influences.  However last year I got in the habit of facing the opposite way to control things and forgot to adjust again this year.  LOL!!!!  Live and learn.
