    Everyone Safe???

Over the past few days, lotta storms in our area.  A couple of tornados touched down in a path southeasterly of us.  Also heard from my sister that there is a lot of flooding down in So. Ill.  They probably have lost alot of crops this year---not a good year for them.  I'm sure JimmyK and Booter lost alot, too.

Jan and I, we went to shelbyville. to boat sat and sunday. Farmers had lakes (not ponds ) in there feilds. shelbys water level was up 10 -12 feet.

Most of the beaches were under water. The boat ramp by the dam was under water. we went to findley marina to put in. The water  from sullivan to eagle creek was muddy (sunday 3:00 ) imagine by monday the whole lake would be muddy.Thank goodness we going to table rock this weekend.

    Randy,

I have some pics but can't post them right now, everywhere up here was hit pretty bad.  We were at the Sportsdock and tied up to wait out the storm.  With the 70mph winds it took out all of the docks.  Only some minor gel coat damage on the boats.  The lake level on Pewaukee went up 18" is 2 hours.

    Kerry,

I hear Lake Delton blew the dam and is now a mudpit.  I heard the Tommy Bartlett water show is in big trouble now.

    Re: Everyone Safe???

The dam is intact. The lake breached a levy and cut a new channel to the WI river. Apparently, the levy and shoreline were very sandy and once the breach started, it became a lesson in erosion. They said the whole lake drained in about 2 hours. So yeah, no water ski shows for a while. Maybe get a couple a of 4 runners and drag 'em through that way. :)

Two hours! To drain an entire lake!!

That's just wild to think about. I read that online somewhere and it shows you just how quick it moves and how strong the force of water actually is. Once it has momentum, look out.

    Re: Everyone Safe???

The Lake Delton disaster is a tragedy.  Kyle, the reason that the lake drained it two hours is because it is only 267 Acres.  Still it is pretty amazing when you see the video.  See you in a couple of days.

    Re: Everyone Safe???

I wonder how they plan to "fill" it again?   You have to think they will want to get it back up ASAP given the financial implications.  Assuming they can fill in the breached area, what was the original source of water??  I read somewhere it is a man-made lake so obviously they did it once before.   Just curious if anyone knows.

    Re: Everyone Safe???

I heard they are going to rebuild the dam and or levy and refill it for sure. I do not know how or when but I heard they are definately doing it. We got hit with a bunch of rain and alot of tornado sirens but nothing to terribly bad in the Lake Geneva area! Hope everyone is well!!!

    Re: Everyone Safe???

If they can fix New Orleans, they can surely fix Lake Delton. . . . .
