I am wondering if any of you guys stopped swapped and just kept going? I used to carry the props, now they seem to be in the way!

Yes, I keep one on hand just in case. We broke a prop last year, and I replaced it with a stainless steel model, so the chances of this one breaking are pretty slim. Still, you have to be prepared for anything, so I keep a spare (and a prop wrench) on hand. I've never changed a prop in the water, but I know guys that have done it.

Yes on both, I run a SS Rev 4 prop and carry the stock aluminum for a spare.  I have also changed props in the water many times, it's not hard, just dont drop the parts........

I hate the thought of bending or damaging SS props. The backup set I bought are SS also. OUCH!!!

But I want to be prepared . . .  but hate those things being in the way! Anyhow I guess I want my cake and eat it also.

    thx for reply guys.

Not at 800 large for a set of volvo DP-SM props. I guess I'm taking a chance but can't afford to buy an extra set. I've got BOATU.S. coverage, I guess that will have to do.

Wow $800, that is killer price! Where did you get them for $800?

What size do you need/have? Mine are the F7.

Oops. I guess that price was for the aluminum ones. Just looked on the Volvo website. I do believe I have the F6, $1440.00. I guess I was off a little bit!! Sorry bout that.  Now I'm really paranoid about hit something!

    Check out this site:

    http://www.boatownersworld.com/Props/volvo/duoprop.htm

Still spendy. I bought the removal tool on ebay for $26 plus shipping

Here are a few on fleabay. You can setup a search to email you everytime someone lists a prop that matches your search criteria.
