So what's the deal with this guy...

The week before last the wife, kids and I were anchored with the crowd at Dobbin's and this guy came putting through in a 28-30 foot or so fishing boat wit an INCREDIBLY LOUD stereo blasting Jimmy Buffet.  He just came through the anchorage really slow, made a circle and went back out.  He came back about an hour later and did it again.  I saw him once before, he was over at Magothy Seafood.  When he left he was playing Nickleback at jet takeoff volume and all the parents were diving to cover their kid's ears (the lyrics were pretty inappropriate).  So what's this guy's deal?  Anybody know?

You sure that wasn't the band for the Dobbins event?  Just kidding!  Were you out that weekend?  We were trying to get some Crownies together for the event and only ended up with us and Crown Jewel.

You're name sounds familiar.  Did you go to SPHS in the late 70's?  Or am I just showing my age and geezin'?  Swing on by Eagle's cove sometime.  We usually have a Crownie gathering back there.  Always look forward to meeting another Crownie.

I might know this guy....if it's the same one his name is Roger he has like a 28 ft walk around with a small cuddy in the middle and it has a hard top and twin 200hp outboards I think ....my wife used to work with his wife and they live on the western shore  south side of the bay bridge you have to use the access road to get to his house and from the bay you go back this small creek that only the locals know where the deep water is. He has a very loud system with the white speakers

Frank,  We were out on Father's day- which was the day after the Dobbin's event, right?  We couldn't make it that Saturday, I forget why.  There were a bunch of Crownlines out there that day, including a beautiful 255CCR.

I did go to Severna Park.  I graduated in '78.  I have a sister who graduated in '76 (Susan) and a brother who graduated in '74 (Bill).  I do drop by Eagle's Cove from time to time.  We went to a raft-up organized by Ed Blizzard when we had our 180.

    Tony,

Might be him.  I couldn't see the speakers.  It just struck me as strange that he was just cruising around, by himself, not stopping, treating everyone within a half mile or so to "Cheeseburger in Paradise".

Tony,  I guess you remember that the 180 was "Nemo".  Well, when we bought this one we decided to call it "Marlin" after Nemo's dad.

    Henry,

I remember you saying that you grew up in the Cape, but thought you were WAY older than me.

Your class (78) was the one that caused them to start survelliance on the parking lot.  Good old Mr. Knight (bulldog) and Ms. Hayes.

    SPHS Class of 79.

Got some major mid level geezing going on here.Wink  Sounds like we may have the makings for a "SPHS alumni raftup" on the magothy Big Smile

As for the loud stereo guy, haven't seen him yet this season but he made a few runs through the cove last year.  Maybe he's just trying to make up for some other "shortcomings"Cool

Re: So what's the deal with this guy...

Frank,  Did you go to Severn River Jr. High?  I think that's where Mr. Knight was.  My Mom worked there.  She was the secretary that you took the money to if you lost a library book or something.  Mr Ubberoth (sp?) was at Severna Park High in '78.  He took over for Mr Barr, who ran off with one of the teachers and didn't show for my sister's graduation in '76.  My Dad took over for Mr. Ubberoth at George Fox Middle then moved to Severna Park Middle after about 5 years.
