    Stereo Troubles

I forgot to mention this in my previous post.  This has been my only real gripe about my CL since I purchased it in 2006.  I am going on the 3rd stereo since the boat was new.  Every season the radio/stereo has swarmed on me.  It is Sony, but probably a lower end model, however, the dealer will put a new one in..but the warranty only allows you to replace with the same kind.  Anyone out there had a similar problem?  Lately I keep mine turned off but you can be riding across the lake and it will come on full blast and scare you to death!!  I will probably wait until I bring the boat in next month for winterization etc.  But none-the-less getting tired of not having a stereo most of the summer.

Do you ahve the transom remote? That could be the root of your issues.

    Robert,

Yes Sir I do, however, I have rarely ever even tried to use it.  As a matter of fact...I'm not too sure that I have "ever" used it.  By the way, my boat is the exact same color config as yours!!  You have good taste.  I would trade you my 260hp for your BIG DOG.  :-)

You can easily disconnect the transom remote. There is a 3.5mm plug (like headphones) about six inches away from the remote. Just pull the plug and see if you still have the issue.

Yea, I love the BIG dog. I have thought about adding a whipple - just because . . .but it is plenty fast.  I was going to buy a new boat, but had sticker shock when I saw how much it is to add over 400 HPs in a new boat. I did not want to take that kind of hit on depreciation so I found me a nice low hour boat. The previous owner was very meticulous. And I have been pretty happy thus far.
