SA Winters are not very harsh and we only "see" cold weather in Dec, Jan and sometimes into Feb. Really cold for us; is a joke for peeps up north. It rarely snows down here. BUT, unless you store your boat in a garage with some heat or fair amount of insulation I am sure you will want to winterize that bad boy. You don't want to end up with a cracked block from a small SA freeze.
This past winter was VERY mild, I don't think we got below 32 for more than a day or two. I remember many spring like days in Nov and Dec.
Check this out - you will probably not believe how warm the winters are:

In my younger days, we would ski till early Nov and then start again late Feb. I loved this time as no one was on the lake and it was "glass" for a good part of the day.
I have an uncle that develops commerical property in Castroville, Devine, Lytle and other surrounding areas. I am somewhat familar (used to hunt out that way) with your neck of the woods. I think the trek (from Devine) is about 1.5 hours to Canyon and maybe a hair over 1 hour for Medina. This varies with SA traffic as you wil be passing through the busiest parts of town to get to these lakes.
Keep me posted, we will share a cold one on the lake.
BTW, what kind fo work do you do?
