    Winterizing 350 Mag

I am winterizing my 350 mag B3 for the first time. I noticed in the manual that Merc suggest that you use antifreeze instead of leaving block dry. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Gene,

Your question is in the "Technical Discussions" forum. Look at the winterizing discussions from last year around pages 13 - 15. There is some good information there.

I agree, drain the block of water, then with an external tank on muffs, put in/flush with 5 gallons of antifreeze--I prefer the green stuff--any extra water will dilute the stuff, but still plenty of protection.  A wet surface with antifreeze will have less chance of corrosion.

I have run the -100 pink stuff thru the block and than drain.  Is this overkill?

I would not drain the pink stuff....leave it in. Pink is better than green b/c it's non toxic

Thanks for all the input. It's a sad day, but the boat is winterized and put away for the winter.
