    Engine cover repair

My engine covers are starting to delaminate-the top fiber glass is separating from the plywood underneath, making it kind of springy when you step on them. I was thinking I may be able to inject some epoxy between the two layers and clamp them together, although I'm not really sure how to go about doing that. I also toyed with using carriage bolts and reattaching them that way. Does any one have any other ideas?I don't supposed any one knows of where I could get a couple of used engine covers in good shape.

    Kevin,

When you say engine covers, what do you mean?  Do you have a picture you can send me?  This may be something that needs to be rebuilt.  Are these the openings on the floor under the bench?  You may just need to make new ones.  Crownline didn't start using the XL Plywood until '98.  It may be that the wood got moisture in it and started to delaminate.  Send me pics at fohbuddha@aol.com

We will try and get this figured out for you.

    Kerry,

As soon as I can get back down to the boat I'll take some pictures and send them to you. Thanks!
