    INSTALLING FENDER RACKS

I have a 2008 250CR. Has anybody out there installed fender racks on their bow rails? I bought one set that would not fit because of limited space betwween the top rail and surface of the bow. Any ideas. Photos?

    Thanks

    Re: INSTALLING FENDER RACKS

I have a 242CR. I attached clamp-on fish rod holders to the bar on the transom. When not fishing, I put bungee cords through the holders and attach the hooks to the top and bottom loops of the fenders. Depending on the type of holder, you may need to remove the bottom in order to pass the bungee through

The fenders sit on the "swim platform" (the one built into the boat, not the one attached to the boat) and lean against the transom. They hold steady pretty well, especially if you wrap the line for the fender arount them.

If you really wanted to, I suppose that you may be able to attach the rod holders to the bow rail, assuming the diameter of the rail is large enough.

    Bill,

I have a 95' 250 cr that has fender racks on the bow. They are wire hoops that clamp on, they were on the boat when I bought it. I will look to see if I have any pictures, if not I'll try and get some tomorrow.   Bryan

P.S.  I just checked out overton's and they have the same kind I do, cost is around 100.00.  I'll get pictures tomorrow.

    Re: INSTALLING FENDER RACKS

Bill, I have them on my 250CR on the front rail.  I had to *** them at a bit of an angle to get them to fit but they work fine.  I don't have any good pictures, but if you want one I can take one this weekend.

Bill, I'm not sure how to post a photo.  I can't copy it into this reply, or into a 'Private Message' using your profile on this Blog.  Go in to my profile by clicking on my name on this page and I have my e-mail listed.  Send me an e-mail and I'll return it with a couple of photos I took this weekend.

Bill, did you get the photos I sent to your e-mail?  Were they any help?  Do you need any other shots?
